SYNOPSIS OF
MASTER PLANNING WORKSHOP #1
with Ratcliff and Associates
On Sunday April 14, a group of enthusiastic parishioners participated in the first of three Master Planning Capital Campaign conducted by Ratcliff and Associates. The purpose of this first workshop, which was open to any interested parishioner, was to gather information about future project dreams and opinions on the site we know as St. Perpetua. The workshop was divided into three categories. Each section involved presentations by the Ratcliff Group, lively participation from parishioners, as well as engaging “hands-on” projects. A summary of the workshop is as follows:
Section One
Keeping the Mission Statement of St. Perpetua Church in mind, this portion of the workshop invited parishioners to think about space requirements our parish might have in the future. There were no guidelines or restrictions. Using the color code as described on the worksheet, each group completed an Adjacency Diagram as to what their “ideal” parish would contain. After a 45 minute work session, group presentations were made.

Section Two
This section proved to be a bit more restrictive. Each group was provided a site analysis of our current land and facilities at St. Perpetua. Keeping in mind the elements from the previous section, parishioners were challenged to place elements on our existing site. Again, each group made their presentation.

Section Three
A slideshow of over 100 images was presented by Ratcliff. While viewing the slides, each participant scored the individual images, with one category being appeal, and the other being appropriateness to our community at St. Perpetua.
In total, eight groups participated in the first Master Planning Workshop. Here posted are three suggested work boards from Part One and Part Two. Several of the top slide images are also posted for view. The remainder of the work boards and slide images are available for view in the Parish Offices during weekday working hours.
