GREAT TIME ON THE MOVING MOVIE TOUR COACH!
Forty parishioners and friends toured many of San Francisco's hills and neighborhoods on April 27 seeing movie clips and the actual sites of over 80 movies filmed in the City. California Street, Nob Hill and Pacific Heights were featured in Vertigo, Dirty Harry and Mrs. Doubtfire. Cathedral Hill, City Hall and Chinatown provided locations for Vertigo, Sister Act and City of Angels.
Craig Smith, operator and commentator for the San Francisco Moving Movie Tour, is a living encyclopedia of movie lore as well as San Francisco history, which he dispensed with a great sense of humor. Lunch at the well-known Enrico's was included before heading to North Beach, Telegraph Hill and Russian Hill with clips of sites and locations from Startrek IV - The Voyage Home, The Bachelor and After the Thin Man.
The tour also included the Marina, Presidio Richmond District, Cliff House and a long drive through Golden Gate Park. Final stop was for a dessert choice of milkshake or sundae at Mel's Drive-In, although not the original one.
Old memories were revived with the film clips and a renewed appreciation of the truly beautiful City of San Francisco. The trip was arranged by the St. Perpetua Seniors Activities Group and open to everyone.
