Dress Code

Good Grooming

Good appearance is important. Students are expected to come to school clean and neat. For good grooming, clear fingernail polish is acceptable in all grades. Students in Grades 6, 7 and 8 may wear soft light fingernail polish and blush that is very lightly applied. No eye make-up of any kind is permitted. Extreme hairstyles are not permitted. Hair is to be of one natural color. Only stud earrings are allowed, only one in each ear.

A student not following these guidelines:

• Will be referred to the office. Inappropriate jewelry and make-up will
be removed and unacceptable clothing will be changed.
• Parents will be contacted
• Loss of free dress privilege for a determined time
• Conduct grade will be lowered

Used Uniforms

Used uniforms, still in good condition, may be purchased through the school. Sales will be conducted at the beginning of the school term and through the parent coordinator during the remainder of the year.

Free Dress Days

On “free dress” days, it is expected that students will dress modestly and in good taste: appropriate for participation in all school activities. Torn, faded or cut-off pants are not to be worn. Other inappropriate items include: tee shirts with inappropriate sayings, mini skirts/shorts, tank tops, bare midriffs, biker or exercise shorts/pants, sweat pants, sandals, flip-flop shoes and clothing that is inappropriately sized.

Students wearing inappropriate items:

• Parent will be contacted
• Clothing will be changed
• Loss of free dress privilege for a determined time

“Free Dress” days will be permitted at the discretion of the principal and faculty. Some “Free Dress” days will be designated “dress up” days when shorts and jeans are not allowed. Parents will be advised.
