PASTORAL COUNCIL
Function
Drawing on the wisdom of the community, members from all segments of the
parish population advise the pastor on pastoral needs of the parish by
clarifying the mission of the parish, developing goals, and furthering the
implementation of the goals.
Structure
The
Council should be composed of eleven members. The Pastor is a permanent member. Nine parishioners fulfill the remaining
positions for staggered three-year terms. The council is currently chaired
by Mike Miller.
Member Profile
Members
from all segments of the parish population are welcome and valued. Good
council members are people who have "big ears" to hear the needs of the
parishioners and are willing to learn. Listening and learning are
important parts of council ministry. Willingness to openly share
viewpoints and opinions while respecting those of other members has made
participation on this committee a positive experience.
Time Commitment
The Pastoral Council meets from 6:30 p.m. to approximately 8:30 p.m. on
the 2nd Wednesday of each month (as modified for holidays and other
conflicts). Individual members may spend additional time on tasks as the
committee may define, including acting as liaison to other church
ministries and events, and special projects.
Term of Service
To provide
continuity members of the Pastoral Council are asked to serve for
staggered three-year terms.

There are different ways to serve the same Lord,
and we can each do different things. Yet the same God works in all of
us and helps us in everything we do."
