Helping Hands/Funeral Committee

Function
The Funeral committee puts on a reception for family and friends of the deceased following the funeral either at the parish hall or the home of the family.

Structure
Pat Fela, Sieglinde Connolly and Edith Hites are chairing the committee. There is a list of about 100 parishioners who volunteer to bring finger foods and deserts.  Also, 8 callers who are asking people from this list for food depending on the size of the
funeral party.

Member Profile
Everyone in the parish is invited to either help with setting-up and cleaning-up, making phone calls or contributing food.

Time Commitment
On the day of the funeral (we have about 8-15 per year) chairpersons spend about 5 hours preparing, setting-up and cleaning-up.  Callers and volunteers prepare food at home and drop it off in the church hall.

Term of Service
Anyone is welcome to join anytime in helping with any of these services. Volunteers for food preparation might not be called more than 6 to 8 times a year.

There are different ways to serve the same Lord, and we can each do different things. Yet the same God works in all of us and helps us in everything we do."
