Adult Choir
Function
Adult Choir members play a vital role in the liturgical experience of
the parish: in the beauty of song, prayerfulness of leadership, and the
spirit of service to the community. Choir offers opportunities for those
with basic music knowledge to develop and advance their musical skills.
Several members of the choir also assist the director of music ministries
in planning music for the liturgical seasons.
Structure
The choir
is directed by Shaun Garner. Choir
rehearsals generally include time for prayer, vocal training, rehearsal of
parts and time for laughter. Choir members welcome newcomers
wholeheartedly, and support each other, not only in singing, but in their
personal lives as well.
Member Profile
All
members of the parish with musical gifts are invited to participate.
Members range from teens to seniors, some are experienced singers; for
others this is their first experience singing with a choir. Some members
read music while others learn by rote. Some singers have solo voices,
while others just sing with the group. But we all have a common love for
music, and a desire to share our gifts with the parish. Singers and
instrumentalists are welcome.
Time Commitment
The adult
choir meets once a week, Wednesdays, 7:15 to 9:00 p.m., and sings
regularly at the 9:30 Sunday Mass. We sometimes sing at other services,
for special feasts and events.
Term of Service
flexible

There are different ways to serve the same Lord,
and we can each do different things. Yet the same God works in all of
us and helps us in everything we do."
